And now the sad part…
This tree used to grace the Rose Garden in Washington Park. I took these photos of it in November, 2011. Sometime in time between November 2011 and June 2012, this tree had been cut down. It was old and not very straight and honestly, all of the carving in the bark may well have caused a lot of rot in the trunk. Whatever the cause, I was sad to see it was gone.
